Matthew Miranda - Founder
Matthew Miranda is the founder of the California Conventions Blog. He is currently attending California State University, Sacramento (CSUS, or Sac State) majoring in Economics. He plans to work for the State of California or a private company once he graduates in Spring of 2012 (assuming he follows a three-year plan). In addition to maintaining this blog and providing anime convention coverage, he is an avid gamer and loves to work on computers. He also likes to play Texas Hold'em poker and dreams of winning the World Series of Poker's No-Limit Hold'em Championship. Of course, he does watch anime and does read some manga; his favorite series (in no particular order) are: Full Metal Alchemist, Eureka Seven, Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon, and Ouran High School Host Club.
Ryan Silva - Photographer and Videographer
Ryan Silva is a photographer and videographer for the California Conventions Blog. He has a four-year anime convention resume that includes Anime Expo, FanimeCon, Anime Los Angeles, ComicCon, and the Pacific Media Expo (also known as PMX), and joined the blog shortly after ALA 6 in January of 2010. He is the founder of the SoCal Host Club, which Matthew is a part of. In addition to shooting and filming, he is also an artist with Photoshop and traditional drawings. On the side, he likes to draw, read and write poetry, swim and surf, and speak and write in Japanese. He considers himself "like any other person this blog" to be an otaku i.e. one who is obsessed with anime, cosplay, or video games. His favorite series are: Vampire Knight, Lucky Star, Initial D, and Ouran High School Host Club among others. He looks forward to talking to all of you and "please keep reading the blog as I will now post footage of every con me and my buddy Matt attend. For now, Ja Nae!"
